Carry over BOM data from one Usage BOM to another

You can quickly populate the Usage BOM of a product by carrying over the BOM data such as parts, part usages, and alignment data from another Usage BOM. Procedure Search for Usage BOMs.

From the search results, select the two required Usage BOMs.

Click More Commands

View Compare Structures .

The two Usage BOMs open side-by-side.

Drag the parts from one Usage BOM to the other in order to carry over the BOM data. You can also copy parts from one BOM and paste the parts on the other BOM.

ResultsThe properties of the carried over part remain the same in the target Usage BOM. New part usages are created for the carried over parts, but the variant condition and quantity of the new part usage remain the same as those of the source part usage. If the target Usage BOM is aligned to a design BOM, the design occurrence of a part is carried over and is aligned with the new part usage (part occurrence). Therefore, you can visualize the new part usage. If the target Usage BOM is not aligned to a design BOM, only the BOM data is carried over. The design data is not carried over. The design data is also not carried over if the Design Required flag of the carried over part is false. You can also carry over BOM data by:
