Create an interface in a structure

Procedure

1. In the Function or Logical Block view, select the owning object and choose File→New→Interface, or click the Interface button on the toolbar.
2. Systems Engineering displays the New Business Object wizard. In the Interface Object Type page, select Network_port and then click Next.
3. On the Object Creation Information page, type the object name in the Name box. You can also do the following optional actions:
   • Description — type a description, such as the object's purpose or content.
   • Direction — select one of:
     • Input — the connection can carry only a consumed payload.
     • Output — the connection can carry only a generated payload.
     • Bi-Directional — the connection can carry both a generated payload and a consumed payload. This is the default value.
4. Click Finish.

The Function or Logical Block view displays the new interface (port) below the owner. The dialog box remains open, and you can create another object of the same type. Click Cancel to close the dialog box.
