requirements-management
In Word, when you open a requirement specification structure, the object hierarchy for the structure appears in the Requirements pane. The Requirements pane enables you to navigate and change the requirement structure. From the Requirements pane, you can create and edit a new revision of a released requirement object by marking it for revise. Requirement objects include requirement specifications, requirements, or paragraphs.
The requirement objects must be released and not modifiable before you can mark them for revise.
For requirement structures displayed in the Requirements pane, you can perform a Revise operation that allows you to:
- Create a new revision of an existing released requirement object in Word.
- Make changes to the new revision of the object.
- Commit those changes to Teamcenter by saving the Word document.
The requirements structure can be an imprecise or precise structure. Imprecise structures are dynamic. An imprecise structure has links (occurrences) to item objects. Precise structures are fixed structures. A precise assembly has links (occurrences) to item revision objects.
Depending on the conditions met, when you perform a Revise operation on a selected released object in the structure, one of the following occurs:
- Only the single selected object is marked for revise.
- All of the parent nodes to the top of the structure, including the selected object, are marked for revise until an open BOMview revision (BVR) object is found. This only occurs for precise requirements structures. Additional conditions must be met for this behavior to occur.
Note: All objects below the object marked for revision are copied by reference to the revised structure.
