Enable JT to USD translations

The jttousd translators convert JT data to USD data for use with Digital Reality Viewer. During BOM USD translation, if JT files that do not have associated USD files are found, the JT files are grouped into batches and processed by the dr_trans_jt2usd translator. Each batch is identified by a Task ID, which is displayed in the Dispatcher console. Procedure Open Dispatcher_ROOT\Module\conf\transmodule.properties. Set the MaximumTasks value. MaximumTasks defines the maximum number of tasks that Dispatcher can process at a particular instant. This value must be greater than the maxlimit value configured for the dr_trans_jt2usd translator in the translator.xml file. Example MaximumTasks=3 Open Dispatcher_ROOT\Module\conf\translator.xml. Set the isactive attribute to true to activate this translator. Locate the dr_trans_jt2usd translator entry. Set the maxlimit value. The maxlimit value defines the maximum number of instances of dr_trans_jt2usd that Dispatcher can launch at the same time. The default value is 3. Values above 15 may cause upload failures. Configure the following Teamcenter site preferences as required. Preference Description Default IMV_BOM_TRANSLATION_BATCH_SIZE Defines how many BOM lines are translated together in a single batch during a BOM USD translation operation. A lower value gives users more frequent updates in the Digital Reality viewer progress bar—Converting product structure. A higher value reports progress less frequently. For best performance with larger products, use a high value. 2000 IMV_JT_TRANSLATION_BATCH_SIZE Specifies the number of JT files translated together in a single batch by the dr_trans_jt2usd translator. During BOM USD translation, JT files that do not have associated USD files are grouped into batches based on this value. Each batch is assigned a Task ID and passed to the translator for processing. The Task IDs are displayed in the Dispatcher console. A lower value provides more frequent updates in the Digital Reality viewer progress bar—Converting object, but for larger object assemblies, it can create too many tasks in the translation queue. For larger assemblies, the recommended value is 25. Increase this value gradually in increments of 5. Increasing the batch size can increase upload time, which is controlled by the IMV_USD_UPLOAD_VALIDATION_TIMEOUT preference. 10 IMV_USD_UPLOAD_VALIDATION_TIMEOUT Sets the maximum time, in milliseconds, that the dr_trans_jt2usd translator waits for USD upload validation to complete for the entire batch. If validation does not finish within this period, the upload operation times out and is displayed as TERMINAL in the Dispatcher console. 600000 milliseconds, or 10 minutes IMV_MAX_CONCURRENCY_LIMIT Defines the maximum number of concurrent operations that the translator can execute at one time, such as jttousd translations, XRS file availability calls, and file upload operations. This preference value helps control system load, prevent resource exhaustion, and maintain stable performance by limiting parallel execution. Set the value based on available CPU, memory, network bandwidth, and expected workload. A higher value can increase throughput but may cause resource contention or instability. A lower value improves stability but may reduce processing speed. 5 Note There is a hard limit of 2 hours to complete all launched translations. Any unprocessed translation jobs return an error. If this error occurs, users must reopen the product in Digital Reality Viewer to trigger the remaining translation jobs.
