Install multiple TCCS environments using TEM

A single TCCS configuration can contain multiple environments, providing support for multiple versions or server databases. For example, you may want to install some TCCS environments with Security Services (SSO), some environments without SSO, some environments on one server, and other environments on another server. If multiple environments are configured, all environments are displayed at rich client logon, allowing the user to select which TCCS environment to use. Each environment contains one or both of the following service types: sso The sso service endpoint corresponds to the SSO logon URL. id corresponds to SSO AppID. tcserver The tcserver service endpoint is the URL of the web tier deployment. Perform the following steps to create multiple environments using Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM). Procedure In the Feature Maintenance panel of TEM, under Client Communication System select Modify Configurations and click Next until you reach the Environment Settings for Client Communication System panel. The environments entered in this panel are displayed in the list of available environments when a client is launched. To add a TCCS environment, in the Environment Settings for Client Communication System panel, click Add. For each environment, type a value in the Name and URI boxes. Note If your network uses IPv6 (128-bit) addresses, use the hostname in URIs and do not use the literal addresses, so the domain name system (DNS) can determine which IP address should be used. (Optional) Use the Tag box to tag the environment. When installing a rich client, you can optionally provide a Client Tag Filter value to filter the list of environments displayed in the rich client to those environments that match the filter. Example You create 10 environments, three on Server1 with SSO, three on Server1 without SSO, and four on Server2. Tag the environments SSO, no SSO, and Server2, respectively. Tip You must have already created these tags. To create a tag, see the Client Tag Filter panel described later in this procedure. If you want to add a single sign-on environment, type the values for the single sign-on server in the SSO App ID and SSO Login URL boxes. For example, in the SSO App ID box, type the value of the SSO_APPLICATION_ID context parameter from the web tier installation. In the SSO Login URL box, type the value of the SSO_LOGIN_SERVICE_URL context parameter. Tip You must have already set up the single sign-on server. Click Next until you reach the Client Tag Filter panel. The Client Tag Filter value specifies a pattern to apply when clients filter TCCS environments. To specify multiple filter tags, separate the entries with a pipe (|). Example To display only the environments containing the SSO tag, type SSO in the box. To display the environments containing the SSO and Server2 tags, type SSO|Server2 in the box. When installing a rich client, you can optionally provide a Client Tag Filter value to filter the list of environments displayed in the rich client to those environments that match the filter. (In a four-tier environment, the Client Tag Filter context parameter sets the tag.) Environments that do not fit the pattern are not available to the rich client. For example, if the rich client Client Tag Filter value is 9.*, all TCCS environments with Tag values beginning with 9. are available to the rich client. Environments with Tag values beginning with 10 are not available. Click Next until you reach the Confirmation panel and then click Start. The environment information is saved. If the configuration is shared, the files are saved to the AllUsersProfile\Siemens\cfg\tccs\Teamcenter\envs directory. If the configuration is private, the files are saved to the UserProfile\Siemens\cfg\tccs\Teamcenter\envs directory.
