Start the SQL Server service

Procedure Log on to the operating system as a user with administrator privileges. Open the Windows Control Panel. From the Control Panel, Administrative Tools→Services. From the list of services, select SQL SERVER (MSSQLSERVER) and click Start. To verify that the SQL Server service is running, check the Status column. When the service is running, the status is Started.
