Running the server manager on a machine separate from the corporate server
If you install the Teamcenter server manager (pool manager) on a machine other than the corporate server, the pool manager machine must have the same data model as the corporate server machine. Use Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM) or Deployment Center to ensure that the pool manager machine has the same data model as the corporate server machine. To accomplish this, choose the option that corresponds to your environment: TEM: Select the features that were installed on the corporate server machine for the pool manager machine. Deployment Center: Select Distributed as the environment type. This ensures that the pool manager machine has an up-to-date TC_DATA directory and binary files. If the TC_DATA directory is shared, this same process is still required to keep the binary files synchronized. Operations such as patching, upgrading, and installation of custom or Teamcenter data models (and updates to those data models) must be performed on the pool manager server machine after being done on the corporate server machine. This process ensures that the pool manager machine is synchronized with the corporate server machine.
