Configure Excel import and export
Note: this is about Excel import/export for Parameter Management, not the Requirements Management Excel round-trip feature (which is covered in the requirements-management book).
To configure the import and export of parameters using Microsoft Excel:
Configure the Export panel display so that only relevant templates for parameters are shown:
- Create a new Excel template from the existing templates:
Parameter_templatefor parameters orParameterDefinition_templatefor parameter definitions. Name and Parameter Definition are mandatory properties for parameters (Name and Data Type for parameter definitions). - Add or remove columns as required.
- Map new columns to parameter properties by setting the internal property name in row 5. For example, for the Name column, the internal name is
Att0MeasurableAttribute#object_namefor parameters orAtt0AttributeDefRevision#object_namefor parameter definitions. - Create a new MS Excel dataset in Teamcenter and attach the Excel template to it.
- Update the relevant preference/reference with the dataset name:
PLE_Parameter_Import_Excel_Templatefor parameters orPLE_Parameter_Definition_Import_Excel_Templatefor parameter definitions.
- Create a new Excel template from the existing templates:
Add the Excel template into Teamcenter by executing:
add_req_templates -u=Tc-admin-user -p=password -g=group -i=<file_name>.xlsm -t=ExcelTemplate
