Enable project assignments on the duplicated structure

As an administrator, you can enable the project assignments on the duplicated structures. This enhances the performance of the duplicate operation and assigns the projects. However, it does not allow for the Replace operation during the structure duplication process.

When you enable the project-related security in the Teamcenter environment, and when the engineering users duplicate the structure, the following actions are performed on the duplicate structure:

• If an item in the original structure is associated to a project, that project is replaced with the project selected in the active Teamcenter session for the corresponding duplicated item.
• If no project is associated to an item in the original structure, no project is assigned to the corresponding duplicated item, even if a project is selected in the Teamcenter session.
• For referenced items, that is, those not cloned but reused in the new structure, if the original item is associated to a project, the project selected in the active Teamcenter session is appended to its existing project list.

Procedure

1. From Launcher, click Preferences.

   If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.

2. Search for the TC_fast_PLS_clone preference and set its value to true.
