Configure structures with a revision rule

You can configure a structure by using an existing revision rule and by using the Configuration panel.

Configure a structure by using an existing revision rule

Procedure

1. Search for and open the product to be configured.
2. To apply a revision rule, select the rule from the Revision list in the header. Depending on how your administrator has configured it, you might see a limited list of revision rules. Click Show All to view all revision rules. Teamcenter refreshes and displays the configured content based on the new configuration.

Configure a structure by using the Configure panel

Procedure

1. Search for and open the product to be configured.
2. Click Configure to display the Configure panel.
3. Select the rule from the list in the Revision section. After a revision rule is selected, the Configure panel displays the unit, date, and end item information for the clause, if they exist. You can override any clause information if required.
4. Click Configure to apply the revision rule and close the Configure panel. Teamcenter refreshes and displays the configured content based on the new configuration. Because the effectivity criteria set in the revision rule and in the header are in sync, you may lose any earlier configuration done using the effectivity group configuration.
