Create standalone parts

Each component that makes up a product is identified as a part in Teamcenter. You can create standalone parts and later add these parts to an engineering BOM.

Procedure Open the folder where you want to create a part and click Add to .

In the Add panel, filter to select Part.

Enter the required information and click Add.

By default:

Finish Type is set to None.

Part Maturity is set to Concept.

You can update the part properties later as needed. While updating the Assembly Indicator for the newly added part, if the part is not a Generic Part, Configurable Assembly, or a Supplier Part, leave it blank. If the newly added part is a bought out part (that is, a piece part, purchased assembly, or a foreign part), you can edit it and select Supplier Part in the Assembly Indicator list. If the selected parent part is a supplier part, the child part that you add to it is always treated as a spare part and is not visible in Teamcenter. The spare part does not participate in alignment, structure configuration, and visualization.
