Importing and updating variant data

You can import or update a stored option set (SOS) from an external system. To do this, your administrator must add the appropriate closure rule to the transfer mode. You must choose this transfer mode each time you import or update an SOS. You can export a stored option set (SOS) with a modular variant item in TC XML format by using the tcxml_export utility. The exported TC XML file includes the SOS related to the modular variant item assuming the transfer mode includes closure rules necessary for an SOS. An import with tcxml_import imports the SOS with a modular variant item and when the TC XML file contains an SOS. The SOS cannot be exported or imported separately.
