Structure Partitions ─ Usage
Populate a partition scheme by using filtering in the Unassigned view
You can populate a partition scheme by using filtering in the Unassigned view. Then you can drag one or more elements from the Unassigned view to the Assigned view. This helps you narrow down the data in the Unassigned view for performing precise partition assignments.
Procedure
Open a structure and then apply the required partition scheme.
Click Filter.
Under the Partition Scheme section on the Filter panel, select the required partition scheme.
Within this partition scheme, select the partition that you want to focus on and then click Apply.
To populate this partition scheme, choose Partitions > Find Unassigned.
The Partition Scheme Assignment view is displayed. In the Assigned view, your filtering and expansion state are maintained. And in the Unassigned view, you can do the assignments.
In the Assigned view, there are no elements that are unassigned. Therefore, open the Filter panel and clear the applied filters.
You use one partition scheme to narrow down the data in order to populate a different partition scheme.
To find unassigned data, under the Partition Scheme section, select the required partition scheme. Within this partition scheme, select the partition that you want to focus on, and then click Apply.
From the Unassigned view, drag the required elements on to the Assigned view.
You use filtering in the Unassigned view by a different scheme so that you can narrow down on the data that you need to focus on.
