Introduction to generating volume migration reports

After migrating data, you can generate migration reports to determine how much data migrated between volumes or tiers and to see which migration policies migrated the data. You can refine reports by date, by policy, or generate a report covering all current migration policies. Reports can be printed or saved to a file. Reports can be generated using one of the following methods: Text-based reports provide an itemized list of the migrated files, the total number of migrated files, and the total size (in bytes) of the migrated data. Pie chart reports illustrate the percentage of files that were migrated for each migration policy. These reports can be saved as JPEGs or PNGs. Note For better performance, generate migration reports using either the vm_report utility or the hsm_report utility rather than the PieChart and Report buttons in the Volume Management application. You can run them overnight using a Windows at command or running a Linux cron job.
