requirements-management
Note: The item revision of the selected object must be locked by being at a released state and not modifiable before you can mark it for save as. The Save As command is not available for objects that are open. An object is considered open if it is:
- Not at a released state.
- At a released state, but still modifiable.
- Not checked out by another user.
- Not locked by the access control list (ACL).
Procedure
- In the Requirements pane in Word, right-click the requirement specification, requirement, or paragraph object for which you want to create a copy and choose Mark/UnMark for Save As and Replace. The save as symbol appears next to the selected object and any other objects in the structure that are impacted by the save as operation, indicating the object is marked for copy.
- Edit the requirement information as needed.
- In Word, click the Save button or choose File→Save to save the changes in Teamcenter.
- In the Save dialog box, if you checked out the objects before the export, select Save and Check-in to check in the objects.
- Click OK. The changes are saved and the copy is created in Teamcenter.
When you save the document in Word, the changes are saved to Teamcenter and the following occurs:
- A new object is created with a unique ID in accordance with the deep copy rules configured for Save As. (For more information about deep copy rules, see the Business Modeler IDE documentation.)
- All changes made to the new object including any property and body text changes are saved in Teamcenter.
- All the objects under the existing object are copied by reference to the copied object.
- If the selected object is in a precise requirement structure:
- In Teamcenter, the selected object item revision is replaced by the new item revision.
- In Word, the new item revision of the object appears in the requirement structure.
- If the selected object is in an imprecise requirement structure:
- In Teamcenter, the selected object item is replaced by the new object item.
- In Word, the new object item appears in the requirement structure.
- The mark for save as symbol no longer appears for the object in the Requirements pane.
