Export audit logs or process history to Microsoft Excel
Teamcenter contains Extensions for Microsoft Office (also known as live Excel), which allows you to manage Teamcenter objects and properties from Microsoft Excel.
Procedure
Display the Process History view and choose the rows you want to export, or run a saved query and select the audit logs you want to export from the Details tab.
Note: You can only run a saved query from My Teamcenter. The saved query functionality is meant to be executed only when the Schedule tasks folder is expanded in My Worklist — you cannot run this query from anywhere else in the system.
Choose Tools→Export→Objects To Excel. Teamcenter displays the Export To Excel dialog box.
Under Object Selection, select one of:
- Export Selected Objects — export the rows you selected in the view.
- Export All Objects in View — export all rows.
Under Output Template, select one of:
- Export All Visible Columns — export all the columns in the view.
- Use Excel Template — activate the template list, then select the template that specifies the data to export.
Under Output, select one of:
- Static Snapshot — a standard Excel file not connected to Teamcenter.
- Live integration with Excel (Interactive) — an interactive live Excel file connected to Teamcenter.
- Live integration with Excel (Bulk Mode) — a live Excel file not connected to Teamcenter; you can accumulate changes and later connect the file to Teamcenter.
- Work Offline and Import — export to an Excel file that also contains import processing information on a separate sheet.
- Check out objects before export — check out objects while exporting to live Excel.
Note: The checkout applies to all objects being exported. Use this option carefully if you are exporting a large number of rows.
(Optional) Click Copy URL.
Note: Copy URL is unavailable if you select more than one object to export, or if you select Work Offline and Import, Export All Visible Columns, or Export All Objects in View.
The export file is generated and the "URL Generated" message is displayed, confirming that the URL is in your Windows Clipboard and showing the URL details.
Click OK to generate the export Excel file.
Excel opens a temporary file. You can create a permanent file by choosing File→Save As in Excel. If you save a live Excel file, you can open it later in My Teamcenter to reconnect it to the database.
Note: Values that you cannot change in Teamcenter are unavailable in the cells of the live Excel file.
