Remove elements from a functional or logical structure

  • Objects removed from Systems Engineering or Requirements Manager remain in Teamcenter, for example, in My Teamcenter, if you previously saved them there. You can use the Search feature to recall the objects.
  • When you delete items and structures from the database, they are also deleted from other Teamcenter applications. They cannot be recalled by using the Search feature.
  • In some structures, you cannot delete multiple objects; you must delete them individually.

Procedure

  1. In the Function or Logical Block view, select the object or objects to remove. You can select multiple objects with the standard Windows functions.

Note To remove an interface that is not an occurrence, you must select the function or logical block to which the interface is attached. Interfaces that are occurrences can be selected and removed individually.

  2. Choose Edit→Remove, or click the Remove button.

  3. The Remove dialog box opens. Click More... to open a pane showing the substructures owned by the selected objects.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • To remove the selected objects and their substructures, click Yes.
    • To remove only the selected objects but retain their substructures: select the Keep sub-tree check box, then click Yes.

The objects are removed from the structure. Any retained substructures are promoted to the levels previously occupied by the removed objects.
