About setting up Smart Discovery Indexing

Review the product structure item paths and bounding boxes, and then set up the Smart Discovery Indexing to allow content searching within these structures. You can index the product structures through services or the Teamcenter command prompt.

If you already installed Discovery Auto-Index Service and Discovery Sync Service during the installation of Smart Discovery, ensure that these services are running so that the structures are automatically indexed at the defined time. If these services are not running, or if you want to manually index a structure, you can index it in Active Workspace.

If you use the Teamcenter command prompt to index the product structures, perform the following tasks:

• Initialize and set up a recurring task to update the Smart Discovery index using Teamcenter command prompt.
• Create a Smart Discovery index using Teamcenter command prompt.
