Configure a structure with a modified revision rule You can modify an existing revision rule to configure a structure as per your business requirement. You must also modify a revision rule to include released part usages in a Usage BOM. In the modified revision rule, you must include the following clauses in the given sequence: Working Has (Specific Release Status, Configure by Effective Date) Has (Any Status, Configure by Release Date) On applying this revision rule, part usages that are released but are effective as per the active change notice are configured in the BOM irrespective of when the part usage is released. If a part usage has older revisions, the latest released revision is always configured in the BOM. This is because Teamcenter considers the current date (Today) while configuring the part usages in BOM. Procedure Search for and open the product to be configured. To modify a revision rule, perform one of the following actions: In the Revision list, go to the rule that you want to modify and click Information. Click Configure to display the Configure panel and then click Information for a revision that you want to modify. The revision rule details are displayed with all the clauses. To modify the rule, you can add a new clause, delete a clause, or change the order of precedence by moving a clause up or down. To edit a clause, select the clause. The editable attributes for the clause are displayed. For example, if the Date clause is selected, the date-related fields are displayed. To apply the modified revision rule, click Modify and Configure. Teamcenter refreshes and displays the content configured by the modified revision rule. The Revision in the header area shows the modified revision rule. Results The modified rule is available to you only if you modified the rule. Alternatively, you can use the Configure panel to modify the revision rule clauses and update the Date and Unit values. As the effectivity criteria set in the revision rule and in the header are synchronized, you might lose any configuration done earlier using the effectivity group configuration.
