Developing requirements > Editing requirement content
Elements of requirement content
Requirements can contain all of the familiar rich-text content elements of Microsoft Office Word, such as:
- Headings, body paragraphs, and hyperlinks
- Equations, symbols, and other special characters
- Bulleted and numbered lists
- Tables
- Graphics
You can apply paragraph formatting through Word styles and direct formatting options. Character formatting, such as boldface and italics, can be applied as well.
You can copy, move, and delete selected portions through the standard Word functions.
Caution: Requirement content includes the text of any Word callout shapes that are inserted in the document. If callout text occurs in the first 2,000 characters, the requirement's Body Cleartext property shows the callout text inline with the overall content. The Body Cleartext property is displayed in the Summary view, on the Overview tab under Item Properties.
You can insert the Body Cleartext property column in the Requirements view. Use the Set the number of rows per line list to display multiple text lines as necessary.
