Evaluating color parts with assigned color appearances Color visualization allows you to preview products with assigned color appearances in the 3D viewer before finalizing the Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and generating color parts. Color visualization serves as a preliminary step in the color management workflow. You can evaluate color choices and make decisions about the final appearance before committing to the BOM structure. Color visualization supports two types of color definitions that provide different levels of visual representation. RGB color definitions: RGB color definitions provide a flat color representation based on Red, Green, and Blue values. RGB colors are simpler and less detailed in appearance, making them suitable for quick previews and basic color visualization. Siemens Visual Material (SVM) definitions: SVM definitions provide a complete appearance definition that includes color, gloss, and texture properties. SVM creates a more realistic and detailed appearance compared to RGB colors, giving you a better representation of the final product appearance. You can switch between RGB and SVM visualizations in the 3D viewer, provided the relevant color data is available for your parts. The system uses a priority-based approach to determine which color data to display. If SVM data is available, the system renders using SVM properties. If SVM data is not available but RGB data exists, the system renders using the RGB color definition. If neither SVM data nor RGB data is present, the system displays the default computer-aided design (CAD)-assigned color for the part.
