Structure Partitions ─ Deployment and Administration

Create partitions from a partition template

You can create partitions for a product from a partition template that is available in Teamcenter by using the populate_partitions utility.

Example

populate_partitions -u=tcadmin -p=tcadmin -g=dba -action=clone -srcModel=PT000001 -trgtItemId=000035

Here, srcModel is the partition template ID, and trgtItemId is the product structure ID. On executing the populate_partitions utility, partitions are created for the product structure with the ID as 000035 from the partition template PT001001.

Currently, you can only use the value clone in the -action argument. Run populate_partitions -h in the Teamcenter command prompt for detailed information regarding this utility.

After creating partitions, you can add structure elements to the partitions.
