TeamcenterKnowledge

requirements-management

You can cut or copy and paste requirement objects between structures in online or offline modes. How you commit requirement structure changes to Teamcenter depends on which mode you are working in and whether you used cut or copy.

Online mode

If you are connected to Teamcenter, the document is an online document and you are working in online mode.

  • When you use cut and paste, commit the changes to Teamcenter by saving the updated source and destination documents.
  • When you use copy and paste, commit the changes to Teamcenter by saving the destination document.

Note: There are no changes to the source documents when you copy requirement objects.

Offline mode

If a requirement structure was exported to live Word, and the Word document saved to disk, the document is considered offline. If you are working in the local copy of the Word document and are not connected to Teamcenter, you are working in offline mode.

  • When you use cut and paste, commit the requirement structure changes to Teamcenter by closing and reopening the updated source and destination documents. After you have reopened the documents, you have the option of synchronizing and committing the requirement structure changes to Teamcenter.
  • When you use copy and paste, commit the requirement structure changes to Teamcenter by closing and reopening the updated destination document. After you have reopened the document, you have the option of synchronizing and committing the requirement structure changes to Teamcenter.

Note: There are no changes to the source documents when you copy requirement objects.
