Use the sample modeling tool to work with branching and versioning

You can work with branching and versioning enabled content from the sample modeling tool.

Procedure

1. Run the sample modeling tool and load the Teamcenter configurations.
2. To import a branching and versioning enabled project model:
   • Click BnV Component.
   • Select Import. The project is imported into the sample modeling tool and the Current BranchId box displays the branch ID of the project.
3. Click Manage Branches. This command opens the branching and versioning component.
4. To open the branching and versioning component in the tree view, select the Show tree view check box. The default view is the graph view.
5. You can perform various branching and versioning operations from the command bar.
6. To show all the branches, select Show/Hide Branches > Show All Branches. Use this option when you want to see all the branches or want to switch from one branch to another.
7. To open a new branch, select a branch, and click GetBranchId.
8. Click Open Branch. The branch opens in Active Workspace and is now the active branch.
9. To import the branch in the sample modeling tool, select the branch and click Import. The new branch is imported into the sample modeling tool and the Current BranchId box is populated with the new branch ID.
10. Click Manage Branches to open the new branch.
