Teamcenter vault overview

The Teamcenter vault manages cross-application and infrastructure secrets (passwords, keys, certificates, and so on) for your Teamcenter environment. Teamcenter vault manages secrets using third-party secrets-management solutions. By default, Teamcenter supports HashiCorp Vault's Community and Enterprise editions. Refer to vaultproject.io for additional information about HashiCorp Vault. You must install and enable your vault configuration according to your edition and distribution. HashiCorp Vault Community For HashiCorp Vault Community edition, single-instance and high availability are supported, installed, and administered through Deployment Center. Community edition is the default configuration for Teamcenter secrets management. When you use HashiCorp Vault Community edition, deployment secrets are stored in the Deployment Center vault and application secrets are stored in the Teamcenter vault. Community edition is not compliant with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). The following image shows the HashiCorp Vault Community edition deployment process. HashiCorp Vault Enterprise You must configure HashiCorp Vault Enterprise according to HashiCorp requirements before you can integrate your existing vault with Teamcenter using Deployment Center. When you use HashiCorp Vault Enterprise edition, deployment secrets and application secrets are stored in the Teamcenter namespace in the Enterprise vault.
