Create a color theme

Create a color theme A color theme is a collection of color appearances that contains the visual aspects of a product, such as color, gloss, and texture. Instead of specifying a color for each part in the product, you can create a color theme, for example, Modern Industrial. You can optionally scope the theme to a subset of available colors, for example, Metallic Silver and Matte Black, which limits the color options that appear when you assign color appearances to parts. This streamlines the assignment process by preventing users from scrolling through large lists of irrelevant colors. You create different themes based on product offerings. Procedure Open an Assembly BOM or a Usage BOM with a variability scope attached. Go to the Content tab. Click Manage Color BOM . Click Create Theme . In the Create Color Theme panel: Enter a Name for the color theme. For example, Cocoa Brown. In Code, enter the theme code. For example, CCB. In Select Models and Features, press the space bar on your keyboard, and select the required variant criteria. You can concatenate additional criteria by pressing the space bar again and choosing the AND or OR operator. For example, when a seat is XL-sized and has Metallic Silver color, then the Modern Industrial theme becomes applicable. You can define this with a variant expression, such as Color='Metallic Silver' AND Seat='Size XL'. Click Show Internal Formula to see internal expression. Click Validate Syntax to check the correctness of the expression for the variant criteria. To define the scope of colors associated with a specific theme, select and add colors from the list of Available Colors to Theme Colors. Click Add.
