Create a requirement or paragraph from the Requirements pane
Warning: Do not use the New button on the Teamcenter tab of the Office ribbon. The New button does not support requirement objects or their subtypes.
Assign the object's subtype and set its structure level by doing one of the following:
To accept the default subtype, right-click the intended parent object and choose New.
- Note: If the parent is the peak requirement specification, the default subtype is Requirement. If the parent is a requirement or paragraph object, the default subtype is the same as the parent's subtype.
- The new object displays below the parent in the Requirements pane and in the document.
- To change the name, you can right-click the object and choose Rename. (Note: the Rename command is available only for new objects.)
To assign a different subtype:
- Right-click the intended parent object and choose New.... (Note: the parent can be the peak requirement specification or a lower level requirement or paragraph object.) The Create New dialog box displays.
- Select the subtype in the Select Type list, and type the object name in the Name box.
- Click OK. The new object displays below the parent in the Requirements pane and in the document.
- To change the name, you can right-click the object and choose Rename.
Create a requirement or paragraph by copying an existing object
Procedure
- In the Requirements pane, right-click the source object and choose Copy. The object is marked for copying. (Note: child objects are not copied with the source object.)
- Right-click the target parent object and choose Paste as New. The new object appears below the parent and the source object marking is removed.
Note: A new object is not created if you copy an object's content control in the Word document window. The copy becomes static where it is pasted and is not added to the Body Text property of the target object.
