Selective file caching

Selective file caching prevents designated datasets from being cached on specific, intermediate FSC servers. Doing so may be important for site security, political geography, or other reasons definable in terms that Teamcenter business logic can apply. Servers so designated are referred to as restricted servers. By default, FMS caches most files on each intermediate FSC server. (There are exceptions for transient file data and administrative command results.) Selective file caching lets you designate files that will not be cached on these servers. Be aware of the following items when enabling selective file caching: FSC servers participating in selective file caching must run a version of FMS that supports selective file caching. When enabling selective file caching in Multi-Site Collaboration configurations, do not attempt to enable selective caching across Teamcenter sites. Each Teamcenter site should be configured for selective file caching within its own File Management System. All participating sites configured for selective file caching should have a similar set of caching rules. That is, conditions and FSC lists should be the same. Enabling selective file caching does not impact how files are cached in the user’s FMS Client Cache (FCC). Client caches cannot be associated with any restricted FSC ID or wildcard.
