Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

Company background: Founded 1992, headquartered in Shanghai; specializes in chassis systems for passenger and commercial vehicles. Operates one R&D center, 12 production facilities, and five joint ventures. Customers include Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai General Motors, and SAIC Motor (its parent). Notably the first Chinese chassis manufacturer accepted as a General Motors supplier for GM's EPSILON II global platform.

Supports 230+ customers on digital transformation. Holds Siemens Expert Partner status specializing in Teamcenter implementation. (This case study is about Real Information Technology as a Siemens implementation partner, describing work done for its own automotive-industry customers — it is one level removed from a direct end-user case study.)

Implementation highlights:

  • Data centralization: consolidated dispersed organizational BOM data into a unified system; built custom mobile apps letting users "browse, present and approve data from any location."
  • BOM conversion optimization: standardized procedures to improve conversion efficiency of CAD BOMs into engineering, software, and manufacturing BOMs, for consistency through product development.

Saratech's blog (see structure-bom-ebom-mbom-alignment-and-eto.md) references Our Next Energy, an EV technology company, transitioning from basic PLM to Siemens tools and implementing separate CAD/EBOM/MBOM structures, with the stated benefit of letting departments work independently while staying aligned. This was not a dedicated case-study document — it appears as a brief customer mention inside a Saratech blog post, with no further quantified detail available. Flagged here for completeness rather than treated as a fully sourced case study.

Notes / caveats

  • Both fully-sourced case studies are Chinese automotive-sector Siemens customers/partners; this reflects what surfaced in search, not a deliberate industry filter. No case studies from aerospace, industrial machinery, medical device, or other sectors specific to Structure Manager/BOM management were found in this research pass (in contrast to some other Teamcenter modules in this KB, e.g. Weight & Balance's Piper Aircraft case study).
  • Both case studies are Siemens-published marketing collateral, not independent audits — treat quantified figures (17.5%, 23%/30%, 14%) as customer/vendor-reported, not third-party verified.
  • No additional customer case studies specific to Structure Manager/BOM Management (as opposed to Teamcenter broadly) were found beyond these two despite multiple search variations.
