Make changes to an imported unstructured document
If you import the unstructured document and then need to make changes to it, you can modify the dataset and then reimport the unstructured document as an update or a revision.
You can modify the dataset as follows:
- Add identifier tags for new objects and trace links by assigning new identifiers.
- Delete identifier tags for existing objects and trace links. You use the standard Word or Excel features to delete identifier tags.
Procedure
In Teamcenter, choose one of the following options to open the dataset that you want to modify:
- In the navigation pane, click My Teamcenter. Search for the dataset you want to modify. Double-click the dataset. The dataset is automatically checked out and the stand-alone Microsoft Office Word or Excel is launched with the dataset.
- In the navigation pane, click My Teamcenter or Systems Engineering. Search for any of the requirement objects that are contained within the dataset. Right-click the requirement object and choose Open With→Summary. In the Summary view, under the Contents heading, click the URL. In the File Download dialog box, click Open to launch stand-alone Microsoft Office Word or Excel. The dataset is automatically checked out and the stand-alone Microsoft Office Word or Excel is launched with the dataset.
Modify the unstructured document as needed and reimport it.
Check in the dataset to unlock it in Teamcenter.
