Create a logical block

Procedure

1. In the Logical Block view, choose File→New→Blocks→Logical Block, or click the Logical Block button on the toolbar.
2. The New Logical Block wizard opens. Select Logical Block under Most Recently Used or Complete List, and then click Next to advance to the Logical Block Information page.
3. In the Name box, enter the text to appear in the Rev Name property column for the new logical block. You can also enter the following optional data:
   • ID — Enter the object identifier for the logical block. You can specify the identifier explicitly, click Assign to enter the next available identifier in the automatic sequence, or leave the ID box blank.
   • Revision — Enter the revision number for the logical block. You can specify the number explicitly, click Assign to enter the next available number in the automatic sequence, or leave the Revision box blank.
   • Description — Enter plain text to convey any additional information about the logical block, for example, its purpose in the architecture, or its relationships to other structure elements. This text becomes the initial value of the logical block's Rev Description property.
4. After creating the logical block, you can edit the BodyText property using the rich-text features in Microsoft Office Word. You can also export the BodyText content to Word.
5. To create the logical block, click Finish.

Tip Click Next instead of Finish to open subsequent optional pages where you can define information for submitting the logical block to a workflow, and assign the logical block to a project.

The new logical block is added to the Logical Block view and to the Newstuff folder in your Home view. The dialog box remains open, and you can create another logical block.
