Generate Teamcenter license reports

As an administrator, you must ensure that sufficient software seat and module (feature) licenses are available and that you comply with the terms of your license agreement. To assist in that task, you can generate reports of license and module usage information logged in the Teamcenter database. License Login Report If geography access has been configured for Teamcenter, reports the locations from which a user logs on. License Seat Level Report Summarizes seat level licenses assigned to active and inactive users by license type, allowing you to monitor license consumption and optimize license usage. License Usage Report Summarizes each named user’s use per month of seat and feature (module) licenses. To assist you in ensuring that seat license levels are appropriately assigned to users in compliance with your license, Teamcenter provides the utility consumer_license_violation_report. The utility forms a consolidated report of users who repeatedly perform author-level operations (actions) while logged on with a consumer-level seat. Module Usage Report Summarizes module (feature) license use per month. Note Specifics of your purchased license levels, their detailed descriptions, and their quantities are contained in your master license agreement. Your site's license file determines which license level options are available in the rich client Organization perspective. Generate license reports from Active Workspace Follow the general procedure for a summary report as described in Generate an item, summary, or a custom report. The following table provides report filter descriptions for the license reports. Report Filter Description License Usage Report User ID Required. Enter an asterisk () to include all users, or enter system user names. Use of wildcards for patterns is supported. Seat Level Optional. Select seat levels from the list. Usage Recorded Year Optional. Enter a four digit year. Usage Recorded Month Optional. Select months from the list. Usage Violation Optional. Select to include only usage violations. Module Usage Report From Month Optional. Enter a numeral for the report start month, where January is 1. From Year Required. Enter the four digit year for the report start year. End Month Optional. Enter a numeral for the report inclusive end month, where January is 1. End Year Optional. Enter the four digit year for the report inclusive end year. message_id Accept the default value, which is ModuleUsageReport. License Login Report Geography Optional. Select countries from the list to include in the report. Last Login Time Optional. Select a time from which to start reporting logins. Login Count Optional. Enter the number of logins to report per user. Login IP Optional. Enter an IP address to report. Use of wildcards for patterns is supported. User Required. Enter an asterisk () to include all users, or enter system user names. Use of wildcards for patterns is supported. Month First Created Optional. Select a month to start reporting. Year First Created Optional. Enter a four digit year to start reporting. License Status Message Optional. Select a status message to include in the report for applicable logins. License Seat Level Report License Level Set to All. License Server Specify the name of your license server. The default value is Default Local License Server. If your organization is using federated license servers, specify the name of the license server for which you want to generate a seat level report. Summary Report Set to true to produce a status summary report of seat licenses in use. Set to false to produce a detailed report on seats in use. message_id Accept the default value, which is SeatLicensingUsageReport. When generating your report, set Report Stylesheets to the type of report you wish to generate. Choose your_report_type_status_html.xsl to produce an HTML report displayed in your browser. Choose your_report_type_status_text.xsl to generate and display a comma separated values text file. For best readability, save the output to a local file and then open it in a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel. Generate license reports from the rich client Procedure In the rich client, open the My Teamcenter perspective and choose Tools>Reports>Report Builder Reports. The Report Generation Wizard appears. Select one of the license reports. For example, select the License Usage Report. Click Next. At the Fill in Criteria page, specify criteria for the limiting the report. For a License Usage Report or License Login Report, you must specify the users to include. For example, in User ID type an asterisk (*) to include all users. To get a report only of usage violations, in Usage Violation type True. For a License Seat Level Report, ensure the parameters are set as follows: Set License Level to a value of All. Set License Server to the name of your license server. If your organization is using federated license servers, specify the name of the license server for which you want to generate a seat level report. Set Summary Report to true to produce a status summary report of seat licenses in use. Set Summary Report to false to produce a detailed report on seats in use. Leave message_id set to SeatLicensingUsageReport. Do not change this value. Tip For criteria that require keyed entry, hover over the criterion box to see a description of valid input parameters. Set Report Stylesheets to the type of report you wish to generate. Choose your_report_type_status_html.xsl to produce an HTML report displayed in your browser. Choose your_report_type_status_text.xsl to generate and display a comma separated values text file.
