Developing requirements
Navigating and organizing requirement specification structures
Use these methods for navigating and organizing requirements specification structures in the Requirements view.
Note: If your top level object is a type of object that is not a child of the Specification business object in the data model, then you must configure the object to allow moving the first level objects up and down in your structure.
| To do this | Use these options |
|---|---|
| Navigate up and down through the requirements structure. | Use the ↑ and ↓ keys or the Page Up and Page Down keys. |
| Move to the first and last columns in the row for the line in the requirement structure. | Use the Home and End keys. The Home key moves to the first column and the End key moves to the last column. |
| Reorder the child nodes of the structure. | Choose Edit→Move Up or Edit→Move Down. Click Move Up or Move Down on the toolbar. Edit the Number property (for example, changing it from 2 to 4) by selecting the row and choosing Edit→Edit Number. |
| Move a child node up to become a sibling node within the structure. | Choose Edit→Promote One Level. Click Promote on the toolbar. Press Ctrl+↑. Edit the Number property by removing a level (for example, changing it from 2.1 to 3) by selecting the row and choosing Edit→Edit Number. |
| Move a sibling node down to become a child node within the structure. | Choose Edit→Demote One Level. Click Demote on the toolbar. Press Ctrl+↓. Edit the Number property by adding a level (for example, changing it from 3 to 2.1) by selecting the row and choosing Edit→Edit Number. |
