Visio Diagram view

Note: Microsoft Visio Professional must be installed on your computer. Visio Standard is not supported.

The Visio Diagram view is an embedded Visio window in the Systems Engineering perspective. In this view, diagrams of functional and logical structures show how a product's subsystems relate to one another.

The shapes in a diagram represent elements in the structure below a selected diagram owner. The diagram owner is the structure's root object in the Function or Logical Block view.

Teamcenter stencils contain master shapes that are mapped to Teamcenter object types. As you drop the shapes in the drawing pane, corresponding objects are created in the underlying structure.

  1. Shapes pane — Contains the master shapes from the selected stencil.
  2. Drawing pane — Contains the shapes that represent the structure elements below the diagram owner.

Note: The diagram owner does not appear in the diagram.

  3. Teamcenter custom toolbar — Contains buttons for access to drawing features of Visio.

Note: Systems Engineering embeds the Visio window through the Microsoft Visio ActiveX control. Due to certain aspects of the control, the Visio Diagram view does not contain the Office ribbon.

Office ribbon features are available through shortcut menus in the view. For example, you can select shape editing features by right-clicking a shape and choosing Format from the shortcut menu.
