Creating new objects in Word using object templates that contain formatting
When you use an object template that contains specific formatting and styles for exporting requirement structures to Word for offline or online editing, any new objects created in the requirement structure in Word use the same formatting and styles specified by the object template.
Only inline styles are preserved; inline styles are defined using Word format options or table menus and do not include predefined styles.
For example, inline styling includes:
- Using styles and formats for text that you apply using the Microsoft Word ribbon.
- Using tables that you create using the Insert Table command located in the Microsoft Word ribbon.
In the example described in the source documentation, a new object template is created for requirement revisions using a specific format and layout. When the requirement structure is exported to Word and the default template is overridden to use the new object template for requirement revisions, requirements are displayed in Word using the object template format — when a new requirement is added, the formatting and styles are preserved.
