Assign Teamcenter licenses to users
A Teamcenter administrator can assign a Teamcenter seat license, license server, and license bundle to users using either the rich client or a command line utility. For this approach Do this Teamcenter rich client Log on to the rich client as an administrator and open the Organization perspective. Open the Users pane. The default license level is Author. To assign a different seat license level, do one of the following: Select a Licensing Level. (For license bundles that include a Teamcenter seat license) From the License Bundle list, select a Teamcenter license bundle. Note When you create or modify a user, Teamcenter compares the number of purchased licenses with the license-used count. If all licenses at the requested seat level are currently used, then you cannot create or modify a user at that seat licensing level. (As needed) To override the site's default license server assignment for this user, select a value from the License Server list. Each user can be assigned to only one license server. If multiple license server references have been defined in Teamcenter, then administrators can assign a user to a specific license server. Assignment to a single license server does not preclude assignment to the first server in a Redundant Server Configuration, which allows for failover in case a license server fails. Note This single-server license attachment differs from versions prior to Teamcenter 11.2, where a user could query multiple license servers with distinct license files (Multiple Server Configuration). Overriding the site default license server assignment might be necessary when, for example, both regional and global license servers exist, when different groups use different licenses (federated servers), or when load balancing among license servers is necessary. make_user utility Use the make_user utility with the -licenselevel, -licenseserver, or -licensebundle arguments to set the respective values for a user. To update more than one user's licensing information, use the utility's batch mode processing capability.
