Limiting the expansion of structures using closure rules

You can limit the expansion of product structures using the static closure rules that contain expansion constraints. Business users can select a closure rule to limit the expansion of the structure if a full structure expansion is not required. For example, a business user might not want to expand a sub-assembly if it is not assigned to the current project. You can use this preference to specify one or more existing static closure rules that the business user can use and expand the structure.

Procedure

1. From Launcher, click Preferences.

   If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.

2. Search for and open the ClosureRulesForBomExpansion preference.

3. Enter the closure rules that contain expansion constraints and then save the preference.

   You might want to reorder the existing closure rules.
