What do I need to do before configuring?

Before you can configure Schedule Manager, you must install the required applications using either Deployment Center or Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM).

Procedure

  1. If you want to use any async operation in Schedule Manager, such as Save As, schedule task reassignment, or shifting a schedule, install Dispatcher (see "Installing and Configuring Dispatcher").

  2. If you want to use data and search indexing in Schedule Manager, such as schedule templates, install and configure the indexer (see "Data Indexing and Search Configuration").

  3. Install Schedule Manager applications in your preferred installation tool:

    Deployment Center TEM
Schedule Manager Schedule Manager (Active Workspace→Client), Schedule Manager (Active Workspace→Server Extensions)
(Optional) Change Management Schedule Manager Client
    (Optional) Change Management Schedule Manager
  4. (Optional) If you want to initiate workflows as discussed in Teamcenter features, this is needed for schedule tasks whose workflow trigger types are:

    • Schedule start date
    • Both Schedule start date and predecessors complete
    • Either Schedule start date and predecessors complete

After installing the Schedule Manager or Workflow to Schedule Integration applications, the Schedule Manager service should start automatically by rebooting the system. An administrator can also start the service manually.

    • Windows systems: Start the Schedule Manager service in the Services dialog box of the Windows Control Panel.
    • Linux systems: Change to the TC_ROOT/bin directory and run the rc.ugs.schmgtwfd script to start the Schedule Manager service.
  5. If you want to enable schedule coordinators to view resource workload data, add the schedule coordinator to the Resource Graph Viewer role.

Note: Find more information about Active Workspace features in "Teamcenter Installation on Windows Using TEM" or "Teamcenter Installation on Linux".
