Aligning structure
Alignment methods
Depending on your product structures, you may want to align related items or item revisions to ensure dependencies are captured and are visible if changes are made. There are two general categories of alignment that you should consider: Internal alignment An element in the product structure affects or is equivalent to other elements in the same structure. External alignment An element in the product structure is equivalent to an object in an external system, such as a BOM or ERP system.
