Manage a secondary key manager server

When both your primary and secondary key managers are running, changes made on the primary server are automatically synchronized with the secondary server. To account for possible network anomalies or other communication interruptions, the secondary server periodically performs a full synchronization with the primary server. Teamcenter satellites typically communicate with the primary key manager server to share keys and perform cryptography for features and applications. In the event communication with the primary server is interrupted, satellites automatically begin communicating with the secondary server. Communication with the secondary server continues until the primary server becomes available. Monitor the current state of data on the secondary server by running the Teamcenter Key Manager Administration application. On the secondary server, the Teamcenter Key Manager Administration application gives a read-only view of the encryption keys and policies being managed by Teamcenter Key Manager. Run the Teamcenter Key Manager Administration application on the primary server to modify any keys or policies. Manage your secondary key manager server using the following processes: Manually synchronizing servers The secondary server periodically performs a full synchronization with the primary server to ensure all changes on the primary server are reflected on the secondary server. Force a manual synchronization with the secondary key manager server as follows. Procedure Run the Teamcenter Key Manager Administration application on the primary server. Click Synchronize . The primary server is synchronized with the secondary server. Changing the interval for fully synchronizing By default, the secondary key manager is fully synchronized with the primary server every 1,200 seconds. To change this interval, adjust the value assigned to KEY_MANAGER_SERVER_PERIODIC_SYNC_INTERVAL in the following file on the primary key manager server: %INSTALL_DIR%\KeyManagerServer\config\key_manager_server.properties After changing the value, restart the primary key manager server process or daemon. Viewing satellite logs Teamcenter satellites log connection data to the following log file on the satellite machine: %INSTALL_DIR%\KeyManagerSatellite\logs\KeyManager\process\KeyManager.log Viewing server connection logs Synchronization and server connection issues are logged to the following file on the primary key manager server machine: %INSTALL_DIR%\KeyManagerServer\data\Synchronize<machine_name>_sync.txt
